Amy Travieso Loveng

Senior Director - Federal Government Relations

 

The American Petroleum Institute welcomed Amy Travieso Loveng in 2021 to its team as senior director of federal relations to enhance industry efforts working every day to address the dual challenge of tackling climate change while meeting the world’s growing demand for affordable, reliable energy. API represents all segments of America’s natural gas and oil industry, which supports more than ten million U.S. jobs and is backed by a growing grassroots movement of millions of Americans. Amy has years of bipartisan experience and insight from her time on Capitol Hill and in the private sector.  Prior to joining API, Amy served as chief of staff for Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, member of the Blue Dog Coalition and Chief Deputy Whip where she supported the advancement of legislative and political priorities, building coalitions and leading both Texas and Washington D.C. office operations. In addition to her time on Capitol Hill, Amy volunteered on various congressional and presidential campaigns in addition to serving as vice president of government affairs at the American Hotel & Lodging Association covering regulatory and legislative affairs on technology, innovation and other policy areas and served as director of congressional and public affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Amy is a proud native of San Antonio, Texas, and a graduate of Texas A&M University. Amy is a sitting board member of the Texas State Society (TSS) of Washington, D.C and resides in Alexandria, VA with her husband Jeff and three stepchildren.
