
The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) has named Carlos Eduardo Padilla Monroy as the new President of its South Florida Alumni Chapter. A CHLI Alumnus and leader at Florida International University (FIU), Carlos brings valuable experience in international relations, public policy, and mentorship to this role.
Born in Mexico and raised across Mexico, Colombia, Spain, and the United States, Carlos brings a unique multicultural perspective to his leadership. He holds a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from FIU and is currently pursuing a Master of International Business (MIB) at the university.
Carlos currently serves as Program Coordinator for FIU’s Model United Nations Program, ranked #3 in the World Division, where he oversees training and student development for more than 100 students each semester. His professional journey includes roles with the International Republican Institute (IRI), where he supported democratic governance and citizen participation across Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as positions with the U.S. House of Representatives, FIU’s Government Relations Center, and CHLI itself as both a Global Leader and Programs Assistant.
