The Evening of Gratitude was a success! Thank you for your support of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) programs.
CHLI Founder & Chairman, The Honorable Lincoln Diaz-Balart started the program by thanking everyone for the support this year. In light of the pandemic, we recognized not only our honorees but also those who are bravely serving our country to keep us healthy and safe. The evening was dedicated to the doctors, nurses, first responders, farmworkers, mental health specialists, and teachers working on the front lines. We are grateful to you and your families.

We presented the Leadership in Public Service Awards to members of Congress who are committed to advancing the Hispanic community’s diversity of thought. CHLI Vice Chairmen Congressmen Mario Díaz-Balart (FL) and Henry Cuellar (TX) acknowledged and presented the awards to Senator Roy Blunt (MO) and Representative Pete Aguilar (CA).
The Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of the CHLI Board presented the CHLI Ileana Ros-Lehtinen International Leadership Award to Rosa María Payá, leader of the Cuba Decide Initiative.
Throughout the program, we also shared the ways you can connect with and support CHLI. Programs highlighted were The CHLI Purple Line podcast, The CHLI Byte blog, and the voter education campaign, You Count, Let’s Vote.
