CHLI Lincoln Diaz-Balart Public Service Fellowship Application

We will accept applications for the 2026 Lincoln Diaz-Balart Public Service Fellowship from Friday, February 27 – Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 10:00 PM EST.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a recent graduate (from an undergraduate program) of an accredited higher education institution in the United States (including Puerto Rico). All majors strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Must be fully available for program dates and complete the entire program from August 24 – December 9, 2026.
  • Selected candidate will be required to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Complete online application
  • Cover letter: A one-page letter describing what you hope to gain from the program.
  • Resume: Maximum of two pages. Must include all relevant academic and employment experience and list any special awards/honors received.
  • A copy of any/all academic transcript(s): From higher education academic institutions attended.
  • Two letters of recommendation: Can be from a former professor, or employer. The letters should be included with your application documents. If your recommender would like to submit it themselves, they may do so by via email at nmarin@chli.org.
  • Personal Statement: In 800 words, describe your family, work, educational, and community experience that led you to apply to the CHLI Lincoln Diaz-Balart Fellowship. How does this program relate to your long-term goals? What inspires you to establish a career in public service?
