Winta Menghis joined Amgen’s Global Government Affairs & Policy team in January 2021. She leads Amgen’s strategic alliances for health equity and engages Congress and the broader policy community on Amgen’s federal policy priorities.
Before joining Amgen, Winta served as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) Senior Director of External Relations where she built and strengthened relationships with the corporate sector, congressional audiences and led policy convenings on key policy issues.
Prior to joining CHCI, Winta served as a Senior Program Officer at the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) where she led global and regional capacity building programs to strengthen the leadership of women judges and equal access to justice. Before joining the IAWJ, Winta worked with the Center for Reproductive Rights, the World Bank and in private law practice. She earned an LL.B. from the University of Asmara, Eritrea, where she grew up and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Hauser Global Scholar. Winta also serves as an Advisory Board Member of the National Minority Quality Forum.
