Ricardo Sanchez Ortegon

Ricardo Sanchez is an Associate Director for Federal Government Affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS). As a member of the of the Federal Government Affairs team, Ricardo is responsible for developing and advancing strategies that ensure patients have access to innovative treatments to serious diseases. With a focus on Health Equity, Ricardo works primarily with Tri-Caucus members of Congress to increase access to treatments, tackle social determinants of health, and improve clinical trial diversity.

Ricardo was born in Cali, Colombia, but was raised in where he considers his hometown of Elizabeth, NJ. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served seven years.

Ricardo received his Master of Arts in US Foreign Policy and National Security from American University in Washington, DC, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latin American Studies from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
