Matt Gómez
Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations Lead
Matt Gómez is Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations Lead in Bank of America’s Global Public Policy group. He manages the team’s Small Business, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI)/Minority Depository Institution (MDI), and climate/energy policy portfolios.
From 2018 to 2022, Matt served as Banking Counsel on the House Small Business Committee under Chairwoman Nydia M. Velázquez, where he oversaw the Committee’s financial services portfolio, including SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), 7(a) Loan Guarantee Program, 504/Certified Development Company (CDC) Loan Program, Microloan Program, Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) Program, and Disaster Assistance Program. Prior to joining the Committee, he was a Legislative Assistant in the Chairwoman’s personal office, handling Puerto Rico, healthcare, education, technology, telecommunications, and agriculture policy matters.
Matt was born in Miami, Florida, and is a proud Cuban American and native Spanish speaker. He holds a B.A. in Public Policy and Latin American Studies from The College of William & Mary, and a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He lives in Washington, DC.
