Gabe Sierra is the President of Prometrix Consulting, Inc. With more than 30 years of industry and government experience, Mr. Sierra has extensive professional expertise in process automation technology, OSHA regulatory safety compliance, large scale petrochemical engineering and construction, and manufacturing.
Prior to founding Prometrix Consulting, Mr. Sierra was appointed and served as the Chief of Staff for OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), where he served from 2006 to 2009. During his tenure as a senior member of the Assistant Secretary’s management team, the injury / illness and fatality rates declined to the lowest levels in the nation’s history enabled by the utilization of all the tools available through the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970. Mr. Sierra’s safety consulting expertise includes process safety, general industry safety and health compliance as well as safety culture and management. Prometrix Consulting is proud of its record in that no client has ever been issued a violation nor experienced a Serious reportable injury after implementing our audit recommendations and safety programs.
Mr. Sierra has a proven track record for delivering significant results along each step of his career path. These international achievements range from successfully completing multi-hundred million dollar petrochemical construction projects within its business objectives while exceeding safety performance goals; advising the Board of a medium-size industrial construction company in Eastern Europe on performance issues; to identifying and developing wireless automation technology which directly led to the creation of a new process industry wide technology platform (Wireless HART and Emerson Process Management’s Smart Wireless). The wireless platform received global awards for innovation, including the prestigious BP Helios Award.
Mr. Sierra possesses seven utility invention patents from the US Patent & Trademark Office in the fields of industrial wireless technology and mobile telecommunication payment transactions. He published a number of high circulation trade publication articles on the subject of industrial wireless technology. He holds a BS Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Indiana University. Mr. Sierra’s career path includes technical assignments with BP Amoco, Emerson Process Management, and senior regulatory management at OSHA’s national office. He is also a member of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute’s (CHLI) Advisory Council.
