Emilio Gonzalez is the Executive Director for Strategic Alliances at Verizon where he is responsible for managing a wide range of national external relationships and policy issues.

Prior to joining Verizon, Emilio was an appointee in the Clinton Administration, serving as Special Assistant for Technology at the U.S. Department of Commerce and later at the U.S. Department of Education.

During his time with the Administration, Emilio worked in creation of the successful E-rate program, the single largest investment in educational technology to date. While at the U.S. Department of Commerce he helped create the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program and authored Connecting the Nation.

From 1990 to 1993, Emilio was a Policy Analyst at U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment where he co-authored: Making Government Work.

Emilio is a graduate of Harvard University. He lives in Washington DC with his wife and two daughters.
