Andrew Vlasaty is a Senior Federal Government Affairs Manager at bp where he manages legislative and federal affairs outreach before the US Congress, holds relationships with key officials and staff, and helps represent and advance bp’s federal advocacy priorities and business interests before the federal government.
Andrew has over fifteen years of experience working in Washington having served in senior positions in U.S. Senate, the executive branch, and the private sector. Throughout his career, Andrew has worked with a wide range of stakeholders and provided strategic policy counsel on issues related to energy, environment, food and agriculture, transportation, aviation and appropriations. Prior to joining bp, Andrew served as a Director in the Government Relations practice at FGS Global, a global lobbying and public affairs firm based in New York. For over a decade Andrew served in the U.S. Senate, as Senior Policy Advisor to Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) and as a Senior Professional Staff member on the U.S Senate Agriculture Committee, where he helped manage and lead strategic initiatives to secure provisions and federal funding in critical legislation that became public law.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Andrew now resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
