CHLI’s Congressional Staff Appreciation Reception honors two Congressional Staff members, one from each party, for their service and dedication to their
constituents and the Hispanic community. Recipients are honored with the Stephen D. Vermillion, CHLI Congressional Staff Appreciation Award

Stephen D. Vermillion was a Capitol Hill staff member who assisted in establishing CHLI in 2003. He believed in investing in leadership and entrepreneurship in the Hispanic community.

The Vermillion Award seeks to carry out his legacy and passion for preparing future Hispanic leaders. The award was named in his honor in 2012. This award recognizes the dedication and commitment of Congressional staffers in advancing the Hispanic Community’s Diversity of Thought.
