Leo Velasquez was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. In 2003, he immigrated to the United States when he was 13 years old and has lived in the U.S. since then. Leo attended college at Montreat College in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. At Montreat, he played college soccer and became one of the team’s captains in his senior year. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business. After graduating, I completed the 2012 Spring Global Leaders Program with CHLI. This experience paved the way for him to join CHLI as a Programs Coordinator, where he devoted five years to finding and empowering the next generation of diverse leaders in Washington, D.C. In 2016, Leo relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife. Currently, he is a Senior Inclusive Sourcing Specialist for Indeed.com. He is also completing his Master’s in Sports Management from Georgetown University. Leo and his wife have three dogs: Milo, a Lab/Pit mix; Benito, a Lab/Something Mix; and Phoebe, an English Bulldog.
