The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) would like to thank everyone who joined us in Miami to celebrate 20 years of fellowships, internships, briefings, and conferences to advance the Hispanic Community’s Economic Progress with a focus on Social Responsibility and Global Competitiveness.
Our President & CEO, Mary Ann Gomez Orta, set the tone with a heartfelt welcome, recognizing the contributions of CHLI Chairman Emeritus, The Honorable Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Vice Chairman Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, and our newly installed Chairwoman, The Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, for all the work they have done to support CHLI’s mission over the last 20 years. Without our Chairman Emeritus, Chairwoman, and Vice Chairman, CHLI would not have been able to change the lives of so many over the past 20 years, and for that, we are grateful.
Special thanks to Miguel Mendoza of Amazon and Jennifer Zinicola of The Coca-Cola Company for their remarkable contributions and sponsorship of the evening
A highlight of the night were the inspiring remarks from Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Robert Menendez Jr (D-NJ), and Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL). Our Chairwoman, the Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, also had the distinct pleasure of introducing one of our newest board members, Daniel Diaz-Balart to give remarks honoring the great work of his father, Lincoln Diaz-Balart.
Finally, the CHLI Alumni Association took the opportunity to announce the formation of the CHLI South Florida Alumni Chapter, led by Amanda Venereo. Her call to action for alumni was a heartfelt moment that underscored the strength and unity of our CHLI familia and it’s ever growing presence.
From all of us at CHLI, thank you for being a part of this special evening. Your support and presence are what make our work possible, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you, fostering leadership and empowerment within our community.
