The reception brought together Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, national non-profit leaders, corporate executives, and members of the diplomatic community to celebrate the beginning of the 119th Congress and strengthen CHLI’s commitment to advancing the Hispanic community’s diversity of thought.
CHLI President and CEO, Mary Ann Gomez Orta, set the tone by welcoming attendees, including Members of Congress, ambassadors, and diplomatic representatives. CHLI Chairwoman, The Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Vice Chairmen Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart (FL) and Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX) delivered opening remarks, emphasizing CHLI’s mission and the power of collaboration in fostering diverse perspectives and expanding opportunities for the Hispanic community.

A key moment in the evening was special remarks from new Members of Congress: Rep. Pablo Hernandez Rivera (PR), Rep. Nellie Pou (NJ), and Rep. Wesley Bell (MO). They expressed their dedication to working across the aisle to enact meaningful policies and create pathways for leadership and economic growth within the Hispanic community.
