About The Briefing Series
Advancing public health involves a multifaceted approach that empowers both individuals and systems to achieve better health outcomes, particularly within Hispanic communities. At the individual level, education and resources are key to fostering personal responsibility for health and encouraging proactive behaviors such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and preventive care. Recognizing cultural values and barriers specific to Hispanic populations is crucial in tailoring health initiatives. Simultaneously, strengthening public health systems through policy, advocacy, and community engagement is essential. This dual focus not only enhances individual health literacy but also creates a robust infrastructure that supports overall community well-being.
CHLI’s areas of focus are: commerce, trade, technology/innovation, energy, environment, and higher education. In lieu of a national conference, CHLI convenes thought leaders throughout the year as issues arise relevant to the economic progress of Hispanic communities across the country.
