Beatriz Duque Long

Director of Strategic Alliances - Biogen

Beatriz Duque Long is the director of Strategic Alliances for Biogen’s Public Policy and Government Affairs team, where she is responsible for collaborations with patient and issue advocacy groups, professional societies, and trade associations, in support of Biogen’s public policy priorities. Before transitioning to the Alliance role, Bea was the SMA Patient Advocacy lead, responsible for the creation and cross-functional execution of the US and Global integrated patient advocacy strategy for Biogen’s Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) franchise.

Prior to Biogen, Bea was the senior director for government relations at the Epilepsy Foundation, where she led legislative and regulatory advocacy activities at the federal and state level. Bea has also worked at the National Bone Health Alliance and the National Osteoporosis Foundation, the National Federation of Independent Business, the California Trucking Association, the California State Senate, and the US House of Representatives.

Bea has served as president of the Junior League of Northern Virginia, is a 2022 graduate of The Partnership’s BioDiversity Fellows program, a 2015 graduate of Leadership Fairfax, and has been recognized by Leadership Arlington’s 40 Under 40 initiative. Born and raised in Colombia, Bea is fluent in Spanish. Bea holds a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from California State University, Fullerton and lives in Herndon, Virginia with her husband and three children.
